Terms of Service

Last updated: November 2, 2026

1. Agreement to these terms

JamEase ("JamEase", "we", "us") is a website at jamease.app, and an Android app that loads it, built and run by an independent developer. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site.

2. What JamEase does

JamEase teaches guitar soloing: short lessons, each one an idea, practice on the neck and a jam over a backing track. It also has a practice area with backing tracks, songs (with the key and the scale to solo over them) and licks, and keeps your progress, favorites and recent songs.

JamEase is a practice aid for guitarists. It is not a music-theory authority and it isn't a substitute for a teacher or for using your own ears.

3. Who can use it

You need to be at least 13 years old to use JamEase. If you're under 18, use it with a parent or guardian's permission.

4. Accounts

You can use JamEase without an account. Signing in with Google is optional: it keeps your progress and favorites across your devices, and it is needed to buy JamEase Pro on the website, so that your subscription belongs to your account.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't:

6. Songs, chords, and third-party content

JamEase does not host or license songs, recordings, or lyrics. Chord data is retrieved from third-party sources on the public web, and song titles, artist names, and the underlying compositions belong to their respective rights holders. Referring to a song on JamEase does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by its artist, label, or publisher.

The key detection and scale suggestions are produced automatically by our own analysis. They are often right and sometimes wrong — songs modulate, chord transcriptions contain errors, and borrowed chords fool any algorithm. Treat the result as a starting point, not as fact.

If you're a rights holder and believe something on JamEase shouldn't be there, email jamease@proton.me and we'll act on it promptly.

7. Your feedback

If you send us feedback or a suggestion, we may use it to improve JamEase without any obligation or payment to you. Don't send us anything confidential.

8. Price, JamEase Pro, and changes to the service

Part of JamEase is free to use: the first lessons, a set number of licks, and a set number of jams — songs and backing tracks — in total, not per month. How many you have left is shown in the app. Each jam counts once no matter how many times you come back to it, the allowance does not reset, and anything you have already opened stays playable.

JamEase Pro is a one-time purchase that opens every lesson, lick and jam, for as long as JamEase operates. If we ever shut it down, we'll give at least 3 months' notice. On the website it is sold by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record, which takes the payment and handles the applicable sales tax. The price is shown to you at checkout before you confirm.

In the Android app, Pro is a subscription sold through Google Play; its price, billing period and renewal terms are shown to you before you confirm. Billing, renewal and cancelling below are about subscriptions.

Billing and renewal. A subscription renews automatically each billing period until you cancel. Google Play (or Lemon Squeezy, for a subscription bought on the website before November 2, 2026) takes the payment; we never see or store your card details. Cancelling stops the next renewal — it does not end the period you have already paid for, and you keep Pro until that period runs out.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Manage subscription link on your profile screen (for a Google Play subscription, also from Subscriptions in Google Play). You do not need to contact us first.

Refunds. For a purchase made on the website, see our Refund policy: email us within 14 days of a charge and we'll refund it. A Google Play subscription is refunded by Google Play under its own policies, since Google is the seller; if something has gone wrong, write to us at jamease@proton.me and we will help where we can.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time, and we may change the price or what the free tier includes. A price change never applies to an existing subscription without your agreement — you are asked to accept it, and if you don't, the subscription simply ends at the next renewal.

9. Availability & "as is"

JamEase is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise that the site will always be up, that results will be accurate, or that your saved data will never be lost. Please don't rely on JamEase as your only record of anything you care about.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of JamEase, or for lost data or lost profits. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for JamEase in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using JamEase at any time, and delete your account by emailing us. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, or discontinue the service entirely.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use JamEase after a change means you accept the updated terms.
